Parasophia co-presents “Allan Sekula: Between Photography and Text, Image and Geopolitics” (9th Research Presentation of the Association for Studies of Culture and Representation)

On November 8–9 in Niigata, an academic event consisting of a research panel and a workshop will be held to examine the intellectual and artistic explorations of photographer Allan Sekula (1951–2013), an influential figure on numerous artists and academics, in conjunction with Research Presentation of the Association for Studies of Culture and Representation, a notable academic society of humanities in Japan. This panel features Professional Advisory Board members Keisuke Kitano (Professor of Image Arts and Sciences, Ritsumeikan University) and Morihiro Satow (Professor of Visual Studies, Dean of Faculty of Design, Kyoto Seika University), as well as other prominent scholars of the Association for Studies of Culture and Representation including Osamu Maekawa (Professor, Kobe University) and Satoshi Bamba (Associate Professor, Niigata University).
